Stake eGold

Staking cryptocurrency means that you are holding cryptocurrency to verify transactions and support the network. In exchange for holding the crypto and strengthen the network, you will receive a reward. You can also call it an interest. With staking you can generate a passive income by holding coins. Besides that you receive a reward (in the form of extra tokens), you can earn extra when the coin increases in value.

With Elrond you need at least 10 eGLD before you can start staking with an ARP up to 20%.

You can delegate your eGold by going to https://wallet.elrond.com and click on the “Delegate” section on the left. If the delegation spots are full you’ll be put on a Waiting List. But don’t worry, even if you’re on the waiting list you’ll still make eGold because 4000 eGold will be distributed each week to all the participants on Monday.

If you want to know more please take a look at the YouTube movie or check out the “eGold Delegation Waiting List Guide“.

Running a node

To run a node there are a few things you need to do. We advice you to start running a node on our testnet first so you get a feeling how it works. On our mainnet there are a certain amount of slots available for nodes. When these slots are full it will soon be possible to add yourself to a waiting list. Being on the waiting list will also give you rewards and when a seat opens up nodes on the list will be the first to become a validator.

Here is a short To-DO list:

  1. To run a validator node you need to stake 2500 eGLD (in the future this amount can change)
  2. Choose a machine to run the node (local or VPS)
  3. Setup of Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
  4. After the installation secure your server with Viastake guide (https://www.viastake.com/2020/05/01/how-to-secure-your-server-like-a-boss/)
  5. Follow official docs to run the node (https://docs.elrond.com/validators/install)
  6. Setup @ElrondMonitorBot or @ElrondTestnetBot on Telegram
  7. Choose a monitoring system like Netdata (https://t.me/Elrond_Netdata_Users) or Zabbix with Grafana (https://thepalmtree.network/zabbix-elrond-guide)
  8. For any questions and announcements keep an eye on our Telegram channels. For validators (https://t.me/ElrondValidators) and for announcements (https://t.me/BattleOfNodes)
